7 Reasons Playing The harmonica Is Awesome!

1.     You can play the harmonica anywhere!  The harmonica is such a portable instrument that it is easy to keep it in your pocket and get in a little playing time whenever you have a couple of minutes.

2.     Harmonicas are cheap!  One of the best things about playing the harmonica is that as far as musical instruments go, they are very inexpensive. Compare the cost of a harmonica to a violin, guitar or trumpet.  A bonus of the low cost is that it is easy and fun to try out different brands, tunings and models of harmonicas.

3.     Easy to play different styles of music on the harmonica.  Simply by playing in different positions and utilizing note bending, the harmonica can be an extremely versatile instrument. Folk, jazz, blues, country and bluegrass and just about any other musical style are possible on a simple 10 hole diatonic harmonica!

4.     The harmonica is easy to learn. Unlike most musical instruments, the harmonica is very easy to learn. A few minutes after opening the box most people are able to play a simple song. Try that on a violin or saxophone!

5.      Loads of harmonica information available.  Log onto the internet and you can find lot’s of information about the harmonica. There are websites, videos, lessons, products, podcasts and forums all dedicated to the harmonica.

6.     The harmonica has a rich and varied history.  To most people, the sound of the harmonica means blues. There is so much more to it. From the great harmonica groups to classical soloists, the harmonica has been heard from battle fields to concert halls around the world.

7.     IT’S FUN!
